COT-Reports.com has been publishing free Commitments of Traders data and positioning analytics since 2020. The site is independently owned, sources data directly from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, and is not affiliated with the CFTC or any broker.

he Commitments of Traders report has been published by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission for decades. It is the closest thing to a window into how the world's largest futures traders are actually positioned. The data is public, the data is free — and for years it sat in plain-text files and PDFs that nobody outside Wall Street could read.
We started COT-Reports.com in 2020 with a single goal: republish the same numbers in a form a retail trader could understand in under a minute. Today we cover 380 markets in six languages, with a community of more than twelve thousand traders following our weekly publication on Telegram. In 2025 the Worldwide Finance Awards named us Best Futures Market Data Platform in the United States.
We do not sell signals. We do not manage anyone's money. We publish public data the way it should have looked all along, and we keep the lights on by being a small, independent team that spends what it makes on the site itself.

Valentin has been trading futures and currencies for over 9 years. Long before COT-Reports existed as a website, the same ritual repeated every Friday afternoon: download the fresh CFTC file, paste it into a private Excel spreadsheet, colour-code the week’s extremes, and read what the speculative crowd was doing.
COT-Reports.com was born in 2020 from that private workbook. The frustration was simple — the data was free and public, but the format made it unusable for almost every retail trader who came across it. The goal was never to create a new trading signal. It was to republish the same numbers in a form that takes seconds to read instead of hours.
Today the project covers more than 380 markets in six languages, serves more than 12,000 traders on Telegram, and was named Best Futures Market Data Platform at the 2025 Worldwide Finance Awards. The spreadsheet era is over. The discipline of reading the report every Friday has not changed.

The CFTC publishes the COT reports as a public service. The data is paid for by U.S. taxpayers and released into the public domain every Friday. We make it readable. That's the whole job. The core reports stay free here too — every market, every week. Premium adds the deeper formats and history for traders who want them.

Every number on this site is fetched directly from a government agency or central bank API — CFTC, BLS, BEA, the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, ONS, Bank of England. No middlemen. No third-party aggregators. Full provenance documented on a dedicated page.
