Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They let the site remember information between page loads — for example your chosen language or theme — and help site operators understand how visitors interact with the site. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which we treat equivalently under this policy.

Essential cookies and local storage entries are strictly necessary for the site to work. We use: a NEXT_LOCALE cookie that remembers your language preference (expires after 1 year); a theme cookie that remembers light/dark mode (expires after 1 year); a cookie-consent preference cookie that records your answer to the consent banner so we don't ask again on every page (expires after 1 year); a cot_authed_hint localStorage flag set after sign-in so the page doesn't briefly show locked content before the Supabase session is restored (cleared on sign-out); and local storage entries for Position Size Calculator favorites and Economic Calendar favorites (persistent until you clear them from the relevant tool's UI or your browser). These cannot be switched off via the cookie banner because without them the site would not function correctly. No personal data is transmitted to us through essential cookies.

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to count visitors, identify which pages are most useful and spot navigation problems. Google Analytics sets two cookies on your device: _ga (a randomized client identifier, expires after 2 years) and _ga_<property-id> (session state, expires after 2 years). We enable Google's IP anonymisation feature, which truncates the last octet of every visitor's IP address inside Google's collection servers BEFORE it is stored or used — Google never persists the full IP. We never use analytics data for advertising, profiling or cross-site tracking, and we have not enabled Google Signals or any ad-personalisation feature in our GA4 property. Your consent is requested via a banner the first time you visit, and you can change your choice at any time via the cookie-settings link in the footer.

You can accept, reject or withdraw cookie consent at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the site footer. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings — search for "manage cookies" in your browser's help menu. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site; blocking analytics cookies has no effect on functionality.

On your first visit we show a banner asking whether you accept analytics cookies. We do not load Google Analytics until you click Accept. If you click Reject, or close the banner without choosing, we do not set analytics cookies. Your choice is stored in a small preference cookie so we don't show the banner every page load.

Apart from Google Analytics (optional, with consent), we do not embed third-party content that sets cookies — no Facebook pixels, no advertising networks, no chat widgets from external vendors. If we ever add a video or chat embed in the future, this policy will be updated and consent will be re-requested before the embed is loaded.

We update this Cookie Policy whenever we add, remove or modify a cookie or tracking technology. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Significant changes may also be announced via the cookie banner.
